Our Market

The Tri-Cities Market (DMA) is located in the northeast corner of Tennessee and the southwest region of Virginia with two counties in southeastern Kentucky. The Tri-Cities is within 300 miles or less of Charlotte, Atlanta and Nashville. Interstate Highways I-26 and I-81 intersect in the region, while I-40, I-77, and I-75 are nearby – making the area an important thoroughfare for commerce.  Johnson City, where our television station & web sites are located, is the largest city in the Tri-Cities metro, and the cities as a whole are the fourth-largest metropolitan area in Tennessee. The market is home to a number of industries with a focus on manufacturing and medical technology. The area is also home to several state and private educational institutions including East Tennessee State University, Milligan College, Emory and Henry, King College and Northeast State Technical Community College.
